What should I do if my Automotive Radiator leaks?

2022-11-05

Leakage of automotive radiator is a thing that can't be hurt. I'm not afraid of anything. What I'm most afraid of is that water will corrode the cylinder block and water tank, resulting in rust. So what should we do if the automotive radiator leaks?

The car water tank, also known as the automotive radiator, is the main part of the car cooling system; its function is to dissipate heat. The cooling water absorbs heat in the water jacket, flows to the cooling air and dissipates the heat, and then returns to the water jacket to circulate continuously. . So as to achieve the effect of heat dissipation and temperature adjustment. It is also an important part of the car engine. automotive radiator are mainly composed of radiator cores, water pipes, cooling air blades, upper water tanks and lower water tanks. The upper water tank is on the radiator, and the upper water tank is connected with the water tank below the radiator by a water pipe. When the hot water flows from top to bottom to the lower water tank, it becomes warm water. The relative wind speed during driving causes a large amount of cold air to pass through the air holes, absorb the heat of the cooling water flowing through the water pipe, and then dissipate into the atmosphere. The function of the cooling system is to dissipate excess and useless heat from the engine, so that the engine can operate at a normal temperature at various speeds or driving conditions.

The water tank is the heat exchanger of the water-cooled engine, which maintains the normal working temperature of the engine by means of air convection cooling. Once the engine cooling water in the water tank boils and expands due to high temperature, when the pressure exceeds the set value, the water tank cover (A) will overflow and release the pressure, which will reduce the cooling water and prevent the cooling system pipeline from bursting. During normal driving, you should pay attention to whether the pointer of the engine cooling water temperature gauge on the instrument panel is normal. Others, such as engine cooling water temperature rise or cooling system pipeline leakage due to engine cooling fan failure, may also reduce cooling water. Before adding distilled water, please pay attention to the amount of cooling water reduction and whether the cycle is normal.
